WVU Fans Rejoice After Learning Pat White Will Serve on Coaching Staff

On Wednesday, the WVU football program was finally able to announce what fans have been hoping for since Rich Rodriguez was named head coach in December – the return of Mountaineer legend Pat White. And of course, the news that White will be back home in West Virginia to serve on Rodriguez’s staff sparked a big reaction across social media.

As revealed in WVU’s press release, White will hold the title of assistant quarterbacks coach/assistant to the head coach.

Rodriguez even shared his own thoughts about adding White to his staff.

“It’s really special to welcome Pat White back to Morgantown as a member of our football coaching staff,” Rodriguez said about bringing White home. “He has been involved in some of the biggest wins in program history, and he will be a great presence in our quarterback room. Pat and I have been through so much together, and I am really proud of the quality of coach and mentor to young players that he has become.”
