The Mountaineers lose another key player who could have been part of the 2023 team in Jasir Cox.

Cox posted a message on social media to announce his intentions to declare for the upcoming NFL Draft. He thanked WVU for allowing him to continue his college career at a major program and then also mentioned all of the coaches and teammates who he experienced to this point.

After spending four years at North Dakota State and experiencing success at the FCS level, Cox transferred to West Virginia for the 2022 season. Due to the 2020 COVID season, Cox would’ve been able to return for one more year in 2023. Cox recorded 62 overall tackles, 34 counted as solo, 28 assists and a half sack as a Mountaineer.
