Junior West Virginia right handed pitcher Jacob Watters was drafted in the fourth round by the Oakland Athletics with the 124th pick of the 2022 MLB Draft.

Watters finished this past season as a starter with a 3-7 record, 6.22 ERA and a K:BB ratio of 75 strikeouts to 44 walks. He was much better the year before when he was in the bullpen. He finished that season with a 4-1 record, 3.33 ERA, four saves and a K:BB ratio of 53 strikeouts to 32 walks.

He still has two seasons of eligibility left, meaning he could return to college if he doesn’t sign a contract with the Athletics.
