WVU OF Victor Scott II Drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals

Published

on

Junior West Virginia outfielder Victor Scott II was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals with the 157th overall pick in the fifth round of the 2022 MLB Draft. Scott joins Jacob Watters, who was drafted in the fourth round by the Oakland Athletics earlier today.

Scott’s 2022 season was the best of his collegiate career. He slashed .278/.397/.454 with a career high in home runs (6), doubles (12) and stolen bases (38) to go along with it.

He still has two years of eligibility remaining. If he were to go unsigned by the Cardinals, he could return to West Virginia.
