WVU Volleyball Swept at Home by Kansas State

The Kansas State Wildcats completed a two-game sweep of the West Virginia Mountaineers on Friday, winning 3-2 in Morgantown one day after defeating WVU by the same score.

The teams traded set wins until K-State was able to claim sets four and five and seal the victory.

West Virginia (1-3 Big 12) lead for the entire first set and won 25-21 with 12 kills and five blocks. Kansas State (4-1) won the second set 30-28.

The third set was a back-and-forth affair that saw seven ties and five lead changes. WVU scored the final seven points to take the set 24-23.

The Wildcats dominated the final two sets, winning 25-17 and 15-8.

WVU was lead in kills by Natali Petrova (17) and Kristin Lux (11). Petrova and Lindsay Proctor led the team in with 19 digs each and Lacey Zerwas had 42 assists.

West Virginia’s next action will be Friday and Saturday in Lawrence, Kansas against the Kansas Jayhawks.
