WVU Women’s Basketball Game Times Set for Cancun Challenge

The West Virginia women’s basketball team’s game times for the 2022 Cancun Challenge have been set by the event, which takes place Thanksgiving weekend.

This isn’t the first time the country roads have led to Cancun with the men’s basketball team winning their version of the tournament three years ago.

The 2022 edition of the tournament will feature 10 total teams across two divisions. The Mayan Division (Florida State, Harvard, Oklahoma State and Purdue) will each play each other once for a total of three games.

West Virginia will be in the Riviera Division with Central Michigan, NC State, Northern Iowa, Tulane and Vanderbilt. Those teams will each play twice total.

West Virginia will play Central Michigan on Thursday, November 24 at 6:30 p.m. and NC State on Friday, November 25 at 4:00 p.m. in their two games.

All games will take place in the ballroom at Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya in Cancun, Mexico. The full list of games is below:

Thursday, Nov. 24
11 a.m. – Oklahoma State vs. Florida State
1:30 p.m. – Purdue vs. Harvard
4 p.m. – Vanderbilt vs. NC State
6:30 p.m. – West Virginia vs. Central Michigan
9 p.m. – Tulane vs. Northern Iowa

Friday, Nov. 25
11 a.m. – Harvard vs. Oklahoma State
1:30 p.m. – Florida State vs. Purdue
4 p.m. – NC State vs. West Virginia
6:30 p.m. – Northern Iowa vs. Vanderbilt
9 p.m. – Central Michigan vs. Tulane

Saturday, Nov. 26
11 a.m. – Harvard vs. Florida State
1:30 p.m. – Purdue vs. Oklahoma State
