WVU’s Gabe Osabuohien Named Big 12 Co-Defensive Player of the Year

On Sunday night, the Big 12 Conference named West Virginia forward Gabe Osabuohien as the Big 12 Co-Defensive Player of the Year. Osabuohien will share the honor with Oklahoma State’s Moussa Cisse and Baylor’s Jonathan Tchamwa Tchatchoua.

Osabuohien was also named the Big 12 All-Defensive Team. In his final season with the Mountaineers, the Ontario native averaged 5.0 points, 5.6 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 1.2 steals and 0.6 blocks through 29 games.

2022 Big 12 All-Defensive Team:

Jonathan Tchamwa Tchatchoua, F – Baylor

Dajuan Harris Jr., G – Kansas

Markquis Nowell, G – Kansas State

Moussa Cisse, F – Oklahoma State

Gabe Osabuohien, F – West Virginia
