WVU Football DB recruit Israel Boyce

Class of 2024 three-star defensive back Israel Boyce has committed to the WVU football program, giving West Virginia another piece for the future of the defensive secondary.

Listed at 6-foot and 180 pounds, Boyce has one more season remaining at Douglas County High School in Douglasville, Georgia.

Boyce commits to the Mountaineers just two weeks after receiving an offer. He took an official visit with WVU on June 6.

Gaining a commitment from a player like Boyce accomplishes multiple recruiting goals. WVU set out to add talent for the secondary and also put effort into building a Georgia pipeline.

Considered a three-star by most national outlets, Boyce accumulated about 20 offers, including some from Power Five schools. Boyce is ranked as a top 100 overall recruit in Georgia by Rivals, 247 Sports and On3.com. His best ranking has Rivals place him as the number 31 player in the state.

Boston College, Cincinnati, Coastal Carolina, East Carolina, Liberty, JMU, Marshall, Memphis, Troy and UNLV were all also pursuing Boyce.
