“Thanks to each program who has spent time on building relationships with me and my family. All the calls, texts, pulling up to my games and visits are all appreciated. With that said, I will be dropping my list today,” Witherspoon wrote on X (Twitter).
Witherspoon received an offer from WVU’s staff in June.
West Virginia is in the running for 2025 prospects Jaylon Dean-Vines (G) and Eric Reibe (C). Dean-Vines released his top five schools last Wednesday with other high-major programs.
Dean-Vines is getting ready to play for the Diamond Doves of the Overtime Elite league. Dean-Vines is from Dallas, Texas and played at Kimball High School.
Dean-Vines was offered by WVU associate head coach Chester Frazier back in April.ย
Under DeVries, West Virginia recruited two scholarship players in the class of 2024 with guards Jonathan Powell and KJ Tenner. The Mountaineer staff is moving on to the 2025 class with no current commitments.
WV Sports Now will provide updates on Witherspoonโs recruitment as well as other WVU basketball recruiting news.
