5-Star 2026 G Deron Rippey Jr. Receives West Virginia Offer

Earlier this week, West Virginia basketball extended an offer to 2026 guard Deron Rippey Jr., his dad announced on social media. Rippey is a five-star prospect from Blairstown, Nj.

Rippey was offered by WVU associate head coach Chester Frazier.

“Thank you coach Frazier and WVU basketball staff for the offer for point guard Deron Rippey Jr.,” his dad wrote.

Rippey (6-foot-1) has picked up offers from Binghamton, Fordham, George Washington, Georgia Tech, Hofstra, Illinois, Long Island, Louisville, Oklahoma State, Old Dominion, St. John’s, Syracuse, TCU, Texas A&M, Villanova, Wake Forest, Washington, West Virginia and others. Rippey is a top 25 prospect, according to 247 Sports.

Last Saturday was the first day college basketball staffs could directly contact 2026 recruits. West Virginia’s staff reached out to various rising juniors.
