Asti: Tyrin Bradley Adds Much More Than Just Depth to West Virginia Defense

WVU Football DL Tyrin Bradley

Even though West Virginia lost a few players recently, the WVU football program did secure a transfer commitment as well.

Abilene Christian transfer defensive lineman Tyrin Bradley, 6-foot-4, 255 pounds, is coming to Morgantown with two more years left of college eligibility. He announced his choice to join the Mountaineers just a week or so after entering the Transfer Portal.

So What Does The Addition of Bradley Mean for the WVU Defense?

What kind of impact could he have on the Mountaineers moving forward?

It’s about depth, depth and more depth. But Bradley brings more than just an extra body to the team, he has the experience of becoming an All-Conference player and a versatility to be able to fit into any role needed.

Bradley appeared in 18 games in his two seasons with the Wildcats. And it was his time at ACU that showed his perseverance. After playing a reserve role in his first year with the program, Bradley recorded 49 tackles, 10 tackles for loss and 4 sacks in 2022.

Bradley’s Journey Shows Perseverance

His journey to go from reserve, to star at a small school, to now being part of the Big 12, makes Bradley an example to look up to for many of his new teammates at West Virginia. This gives WVU another versatile player with the bonus of size, athleticism and maturity for a defense that’s been emphasizing perfecting the fundamentals throughout the offseason.

With Bradley in the fold, West Virginia will be able to know there is another option with experience to help the defensive line available, especially if an injury would occur to a starter, or even the new leader of the defense Sean Martin.
