On Monday morning, West Virginia forward Taj Thweatt put his name into the transfer portal, first reported by 247Sports and ESPN. Following the announcement, WVU players Jalen Bridges and Dimon Carrigan reacted to the news, showing love to Thweatt.

Thweatt never really got the opportunity to thrive in the rotation during his two seasons at West Virginia. After Taz Sherman, Gabe Osabuohien and Kobe Johnson all missed the Texas game over the weekend due to being in COVID protocol, Thweatt still did not get that chance to play.

In 12 games through two seasons, Thweatt averaged 0.6 points, 0.6 rebounds and 0.2 assists. It’s clear that Thweatt was loved by his West Virginia teammates, but now he has an opportunity to find a team that he will get a chance to play for.
