It’s almost football season for West Virginia, with just under two weeks until the Mountaineers travel to College Park, Md. for a non-conference game against Maryland, and we know who will call the game now.

The broadcasting team of Anish Shroff, Mike Golic Jr. and Taylor McGregor will call the game on ESPN on Sept. 4 at 3:30 p.m.

Shroff and Golic will handle the play-by-play and color commentary coverage, respectively, while McGregor will be the on-field reporter for the game.

WVU holds a 28-22-2 lifetime record against Maryland, winning the last two contests and nine of the last 10 dating back to 2004. The Mountaineers and Terrapins last met in 2015, a 45-6 WVU victory at Milan Puskar Stadium.

An old rivalry renewed, WVU played Maryland almost every season from 1980 through the middle of the 2010s. A win over Maryland would start WVU’s 2021 season off to a fast start and lead into a very win-able stretch of non-conference games before heading to Norman, Ok. to play Oklahoma on Sept. 25.
