OSU Chris Holtmann

Ohio State has parted ways with men’s basketball head coach Chris Holtmann on Wednesday, as first reported by Stadium’s Jeff Goodman. Holtmann is done in Columbus after seven seasons. OSU will join the coaching search movement this spring and the current players will get a 30-day window to enter the transfer portal with the coaching move.

Ohio State enters the search for a head coach with DePaul, out of the Power-5 and Big East schools.

Michigan AD Warde Manuel was asked about head coach Juwan Howard on Wednesday as well. Manuel mentioned that he’s rooting for Howard and continues to have conversations with him but doesn’t say the job is his to keep.

“I have not really thought about any changes in our men’s basketball program at this time,” Manuel told the Michigan media. “I want to support Juwan.”

West Virginia’s job isn’t officially open but they do have a decision to make on interim HC Josh Eilert at the conclusion of the season. WVU is currently 8-16 (3-8 Big 12) with seven regular season games to go. WVU AD Wren Baker will evaluate Eilert’s day-to-day job performance and go from there.

WV Sports Now will continue to update on the upcoming coaching carousel this offseason.
