Charleston’s Mike Strachan Drafted in Seventh Round of NFL Draft by Indianapolis Colts

The Indianapolis Colts have selected University of Charleston wide receiver Mike Strachan with the first pick in the seventh round, 229 overall, of the 2021 NFL Draft. At 6-foot-5 and 226 pounds, Charleston’s Mike Strachan is a prototypical height-weight-speed wide receiver prospect.

A two-time All-MEC First Team selection, Strachan was hyper-productive in his time with the Golden Eagles. After redshirting in 2016 and making only one reception in 2017, Strachan exploded for 126 receptions, 2,326 yards and 27 touchdowns across 2018 and 2019.

Strachan made 78 receptions for 1,319 yards and 19 touchdowns in 2019. He opted out of UC’s abbreviated 2020 season and participated in West Virginia’s pro day last month.
