Former Mountaineer CB TJ Crandall Finds New College Home

One of West Virginia’s departing players has already found his new college home. Defensive back TJ Crandall committed to Oregon State on Friday.
Crandall announced his intentions to enter the transfer portal on Dec. 4 and thanked the WVU program in a social media post.

“I want to thank West Virginia University for the opportunity to compete and get better,” he wrote. “But I will be entering my name in the transfer portal.”
Crandall, a sophomore from Sammamish, Wa., spent just one season in Morgantown after transferring in from Colorado State last summer. He battled through injuries in the preseason and throughout the year, but still appeared in 11 games in 2024. He made nine total tackles with no pass deflections or interceptions.
Crandall was one of six transfer defensive backs WVU brought in prior to this season to rebuild its depleted secondary.
