WVU football cornerback TJ Crandall has entered his name into the transfer portal, he announced on social media Wednesday afternoon.

“I want to thank West Virginia University for the opportunity to compete and get better,” he wrote. “But I will be entering my name in the transfer portal.”

Crandall, a sophomore from Sammamish, Wa., spent just one season in Morgantown after transferring in from Colorado State last summer. He battled through injuries in the preseason and throughout the year, but still appeared in 11 games in 2024. He made nine total tackles with no pass deflections or interceptions.

Crandall was one of six transfer defensive backs WVU brought in prior to this season to rebuild its depleted secondary.

Crandall is the latest Mountaineer to enter the portal following the firing of former WVU head coach Neal Brown on Sunday.
