Former West Virginia men’s basketball player Casey Mitchell has been cleared on a 2011 rape charge in Greece. Mitchell was arrested last August for missing a 2013 court date for the incident.

WV MetroNews’ Hoppy Kercheval was the first to report Mitchell being acquitted.

Court documents from the incident state that the woman had scratches and bruises on her body.

Mitchell played at West Virginia for two years from 2009-11 and was a member of the Final Four team in 2010. After graduating, Mitchell went onto play professionally in the NBA D-League and internationally in Slovenia, Germany and Israel.
