WVU honors coal miners during game

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Despite the 28-16 loss to Iowa State, the WVU football program honored coal miners across the state of West Virginia in numerous ways Saturday night at Mountaineer Field at Milan Puskar Stadium.

From the debut of the Coal Rush uniform, to videos honoring the blue collar industry, to honoring some of the state’s miners on the field and even allowing them to take part in the Mountaineer Mantrip, hardworking West Virginians, who keep the lights on, were recognized.

Relive some of the festivities with photos and videos by WVSN photographer, Kelsie LeRose.
