Gambler’s Corner: Week Ten

Published

on

Welcome to yet another edition of Gambler’s Corner!

We picked three perfect games last week, bringing our overall record to 13-5.

Let’s keep the good times rolling with another slate of picks for week ten.

Last week’s results:

  • West Virginia (-13.5) versus Baylor – Win
  • Kentucky (+7) at Missouri – Win
  • Texas Tech at Iowa State (over 51) – Win

Hot Picks of Week Ten

Alabama at LSU (over 54)

This pick is way more about Alabama’s offense than it is anything else. The Tide boast the best overall offense we’ve seen in a long, long time. The Tiger’s defense will most likely be the most talented Alabama will face all season long, however, so I’m banking on LSU scoring a couple touchdowns to keep this interesting. Alabama has failed to score more than 40 points only once this year and I expect that trend to continue in Baton Rouge.

Louisville at Clemson (over 61)

Similar to my previous pick, this one is all about Clemson’s high-powered offense. Averaging over 500 yards and 44 points per game, the Tigers look like the only team in America that could potentially challenge Alabama for a national title. And though Louisville is currently regarded as one of the worst Power Five teams in the nation, its offense still can put points on the board. Clemson could very well hit the over all by themselves but a garbage-time score from the Cardinals will do the trick.

Ohio State (-18.5) versus Nebraska

After being humiliated on national TV against Purdue two weeks ago, Ohio State has had plenty of time to right its wrongs during its bye week. Minus the Purdue game, the Buckeyes have been nearly unstoppable, averaging well over 500 yards and 43 points per contest. Nebraska, however, is dealing with its own issues, allowing over 400 yards of offense and 33 points per game. With Scott Frost at the helm, the Cornhuskers will eventually be relevant in the Big 10. It just won’t happen this year.
