Oddsmakers Tag Oklahoma as Heavy Favorite Over West Virginia

WVU Football Mountaineers against Oklahoma Sooners

Fans may wonder when the bleeding is going to stop for the West Virginia football team, but oddsmakers don’t see it getting better any time soon.

The line for WVU’s upcoming game against Oklahoma opens with the Sooners favored by 9 points, according to Circa Sports. This is despite the fact the Mountaineers (3-6, 1-5) will be at home and OU (5-4, 2-3) has also struggled this season.

To award such an edge to Oklahoma shows the perception of this WVU team. West Virginia is coming off a 31-14 loss to Iowa State, who did not have a conference win until Saturday, while Oklahoma is on the heels of a 38-35 defeat at the hands of the only Big 12 team to lose to WVU in Baylor.

It’s also worth noting that WVU has never beat Oklahoma since joining the Big 12 in 2012.

Kickoff for WVU and Oklahoma is scheduled for noon. The game will be televised on FS1.
