When Noah Knigga posted about his visit to WVU, he had no idea he was about to go viral. But once people started to see how his last name was spelled, an uncomfortable feeling and a confusion of how it’s pronounced set X (Twitter) on fire.

The viral nature of Knigga’s recruitment caught the attention of Pat McAfee, one of West Virginia’s most famous alums. McAfee and his crew then brought up the storm surrounding the class of 2025 linebacker from Lawrenceburg, Indiana.

McAfee said they may need to get familiar with this kid since he’s from the state McAfee lives and ‘the Pat McAfee Show’ is a based out of and he’s being recruited by the school where he played college ball.

The former Mountaineer kicker turned ESPN media mogul then added some levity back into the discussion, wondering how his College GameDay colleague Rece Davis will handle talking about Knigga if he becomes a note worthy college player.

McAfee actually came up with an adjustment to Knigga’s name while the rest of the crew all kept saying how they are rooting for the kid and how his last name is not his fault. Knigga seems to be taking it all in-stride, even thanking McAfee for the segment.

Why Knigga just went viral this week when he’s been visiting schools, including WVU, for well over year is a question only the X (Twitter) algorithm knows.
