Poll: Who Wins Between West Virginia-Penn State?

Penn State Beaver Stadium

West Virginia opens up the season against No. 7 Penn State in Happy Valley on Saturday night. Who do you think wins the week one matchup between the Mountaineers and Nittany Lions?

WVU and Penn State will face each other for the first time since 1992. The Nittany Lions hold an all-time record of 48-9-2 against the Mountaineers.

PSU HC James Franklin, after months of telling reporters that the position was up for grabs, still hasn’t publicly announced it, and its not looking like that will happen before Saturday’s season opener against West Virginia under the Beaver Stadium lights.

Ironically, Franklin did voice that he is operating under the assumption that WVU will be starting Garrett Greene under center. This is a day after Neal Brown also refused to publicly name his starting quarterback, even going as far as to say he will only start releasing depth charts during game weeks if other coaches agree to do it too.

Greene is expected to start for West Virginia, while Drew Allar is expected for Penn State.

The Mountaineers and Nittany Lions will kick off at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday in State College, Pa. NBC will televise the primetime game.

Check out what the local and national media think of West Virginia’s upcoming season.
