A three-star safety is scheduled to visit the WVU football program in early April.

Shamir Fredericks, a class of 2024 player out of Canarsie, High School in Brooklyn, New York, publicized his upcoming trip to Morgantown late Friday night. He will be on campus on April 6 during spring practice.

Fredericks, 6’4,” 175 pounds, already has 10 offers on the table. WVU football extended their offer to Fredericks in June.

Major programs like Florida, Maryland, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Penn State, Purdue and Syracuse are all in the mix for Fredericks. He’s also received offers from Akron, Bowling Green, Temple and Massachusetts.

Fredericks has earned a three-star rating from both Rivals and On3.com. 247 Sports hasn’t awarded the current junior any stars just yet.

To this point, he’s visited the campuses of Penn State (on 6/10/22), Temple, (on 6/22/22), Florida (on 6/13/22) and Maryland (twice – on 3/3/22 and 6/4/22).

While it’s still early, Fredericks is currently projected to commit to either WVU football or Temple, according to Rivals.
