What’s It Like Flipping off Bob Huggins in a Burger King Drive-Thru?
The thought of flipping off Bob Huggins in a Burger King drive-thru line just sounds like a made up story. For Gage Sneed, it was a reality.
“I was about to bust his ass,” Huggins said when entering the media room on Friday.
Sneed, a graduate of West Virginia University, was heading towards the intercom at the Burger King off of Patteson Drive when the future hall of fame coach cut him in line. If you know how the traffic works in that area, it’s a cluster. Sneed was allowing some space in-between cars so traffic could still go through the line.
“I was sitting there waiting, and a truck decided to pull into this spot, and cuts me off in the drive-thru,” Sneed told WV Sports Now. “I see this, and I become irritated and I honk the horn in my car and throw my hands up in the air. I mumble some choice words and pull up behind this truck.”
Sneed reached the drive-thru window and overheard the Burger King workers talk about how they just served food to Huggins. The longtime WVU fan couldn’t believe what he had just done.
“My jaw dropped when I heard this, and I was in awe that I had just honked and threw my hands up at Bob Huggins over him skipping me in the drive-thru,” Sneed said.
Sneed called members of his family to tell the story that he couldn’t believe that happened. Meanwhile, Huggins was telling the WVU media members what had happened when getting lunch.
“I did make somebody mad. He was like 150 yards from the speaker playing with his phone,” Huggins said. “So I just pulled in-front of him and he flipped me off.”

“While Huggins’ story is very accurate, I wasn’t on my phone,” Sneed said. “I will say he didn’t tell me to bring it on, but if he did I would’ve deserved it. I do apologize for my actions and I hope that Huggins isn’t too mad. I’d be glad to buy him a Burger King any day to make up for it! Sorry Huggs!”
Hopefully for Huggins and Sneed, the two can sit back and laugh about the unbelievable story that took place at Burger King!
