West Virginia’s basketball program announced on Friday afternoon that they have postponed their foreign trip to Italy until summer 2024, per release.

“For the trip to be most beneficial to our program, it made more sense to defer the Italy summer trip to next year,” interim head coach Josh Eilert said. “A lot of factors went into the decision, but it became clear that getting our roster finalized and continuing our workout schedule here in Morgantown was the best course of action.”

The Mountaineers were scheduled to travel to Italy starting on July 31 to Aug. 10. The team was going to visit Portofino, Florence and Rome.

West Virginia currently has eight players on scholarship with five spots to fill: RaeQuan Battle (G), Jesse Edwards (C), Josiah Harris (F), Kobe Johnson (G), Kerr Kriisa (G), Omar Silverio (G), Patrick Suemnick (F) and Seth Wilson (G).

West Virginia’s last foreign trip was to Spain in August 2019.
