Breaking: Kerr Kriisa to Exit Transfer Portal, Return to WVU

Kerr Kriisa announced on Sunday afternoon that he is exiting the transfer portal to play at West Virginia under interim head coach Josh Eilert.
Kriisa re-entered the transfer portal on Friday when WVU didn’t have a decision on the coaching search.
“The support and love that the Mountaineer fanbase has showed me and this team in 2 months is unmatched. I feel so lucky to call Morgantown home. 2 years ago I put my faith in an assistant coach and we won 61 games together. Now, I am putting my faith back in a coach that put his faith in me. This staff and team are about to do something very special and l’m so glad to be a part of it,” Kriisa said.
“This one is for Huggs,” Kriisa added.

Kriisa (6-foot-3) served as a full-time starter for the last two years under Tommy Lloyd. Kriisa, a native of Estonia, averaged 9.9 points, 2.4 rebounds and 5.1 assists this past season. Kriisa was second in the Pac-12 in total assists and also shot 37 percent from three. Kriisa has appeared in the last two NCAA Tournaments for Arizona, reaching the Sweet-16 last year.
Kriisa has two years of eligibility remaining.
WVU still has Tre Mitchell (F) and Joe Toussaint (G) in the transfer portal from this past week. Mitchell and Toussaint are both considering a return. Mitchell visited Kentucky this weekend while Toussaint is visiting Kansas State and Texas Tech throughout this next week.
