West Virginia Basketball Receives First NET Ranking of the Season

West Virginia Basketball received their first NET ranking of the 2023-24 season on Monday morning. The Mountaineers come in at No. 209 in the country out of 362 teams.

The NET rankings are measured by the NCAA Tournament committee come Selection Sunday in March. The computerized system factors in opponents, location of game and win margin. The rankings are updated daily as the games are finalized.

Quad-1: 0-1

Quad-2: 0-2

Quad-3: 1-1

Quad-4: 2-0

WVU comes in last place in the Big 12 amongst the NET rankings. The conference has half of the league in the top 20 nationally.

The Mountaineers most recently fell 79-73 against St. John’s at home in the Big East-Big 12 Battle. West Virginia will host Pitt in the 192nd edition of the Backyard Brawl on Wednesday, which will be a quad-2 game in the NET system.
