A West Virginia native coming off being named a conference’s Player of the Year instantly becomes someone to keep an eye on for the WVU basketball program.

As of Monday, March 23, multiple reports indicate Robert Morris forward DeSean Goode plans to enter the transfer portal.

Goode, listed at 6-foot-8 and 230 pounds, who hails from Fairmont, will move on from Robert Morris after one season with the Colonials. He started his college career at Indiana University at Indianapolis in 2024-25.

Goode averaged 15.2 points, 8/7 rebounds, 1.4 assists and shot 62.9% from the field throughout the 2025-26 season. He was named the Horizon League Player of the Year.

Before college, Goode initially played at Fairmont Senior High School before spending a season of postgraduate prep at Fork Union Military Academy. He was a First Team All-Conference in 2024 by the Elite Prep League, averaging 13.0 points and 8.2 rebounds per game during his prep season at Fork Union.
