West Virginia has extended an offer to 2024 4-star forward Derrion Reid. Reid is a native of Grovetown, Ga.

Reid announced the offer on his social media accounts on Sunday night.

“Blessed to have received an offer from West Virginia,” Reid wrote.

Reid (6-foot-7, 180 pounds) has picked up offers from Alabama, Auburn, Cincinnati, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Georgia State, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Kansas State, Kennesaw State, LSU, Mississippi State, Missouri, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia Tech, West Virginia, Xavier and others. Reid has visited Alabama, Georgia, Georgia State and Georgia Tech so far.

According to 247 Sports, Reid is a top-75 prospect in his class, No. 6 in the entire state of Georgia.

West Virginia’s coaching staff has seen a surge in recruiting top-100 prospects rather than recruiting 3-stars to develop. WVU has offered Cam Ward (4-star F), Del Jones (4-star G), Derik Queen (5-star C), Jaiden Glover (4-star F), Drew McKenna (4-star F), Jasper Johnson (4-star G), Jalil Bethea (4-star) and Jahseem Felton (4-star G) within the last couple months. Morgantown High School guard Sharron Young was also extended an offer last Friday.

WV Sports Now will keep you up to date with Reid’s recruitment, as well as West Virginia’s recruiting this offseason.
