West Virginia and Texas Tech will kickoff in Morgantown on Sept. 23 at 3:30 p.m., per release by TTU. This will be the first afternoon game for the Mountaineers this season.

The game will be presented on Big 12 Now on ESPN+.

Texas Tech will enter the game on a four-game winning streak versus West Virginia. Texas Tech hasn’t lost to West Virginia under the Neal Brown tenure as their last loss was back in 2018. The Red Raiders roll right through WVU in Lubbock, 48-10 in 2022. Texas Tech, who was dubbed a dark horse team in the Big 12, is currently 0-2 after losses at Wyoming (35-33 2OT) and against Oregon (38-30). TTU hosts Tarleton State this coming weekend.

Texas Tech joins Baylor as the only winless teams through two weeks in the Big 12.

West Virginia will host the Red Raiders to complete their three-game home stand. The Mountaineers defeated Duquesne on Saturday night highlighted by WR Hudson Clement’s three touchdowns. WVU will host Pitt in the 2023 edition of the Backyard Brawl. This marks the first time since 2011 that Pitt has made the trip to Milan Puskar Stadium.

WVU is currently 1-1 after splitting their first two games. The Mountaineers lost to Penn State (38-15) in week one.
