Former West Virginia Black Bear Jeron Williams was drafted by the Houston Astros in the 9th round of the MLB Draft.

WVU outfielder Braden Barry has now joined the Toronto Blue Jays origination after being selected with the 244th pick of the 8th round in MLB Draft.

Update (5:00 PM) – 

The WVU baseball program lands a commitment from Tyler Switalski.

Update (4:00 PM) –

The Pittsburgh Pirates looked just a bit down south to Morgantown for one of their 2023 draft picks. WVU pitcher Carlson Reed was selected by the Pirates with the 104th pick of the fourth round on Monday.

Reed, who transitioned from being a starter to a reliever and closer in 2023, went 2-1 with seven saves and a 2.61 earned run average this season for West Virginia.
