Hopefully the West Virginia Mountaineers are comfortable playing at home because they will not be leaving Morgantown for the next three weeks.

The WVU baseball team (15-18, 6-9 Big 12) will begin an 11-game homestand this weekend, starting with a three-game series against No. 5 TCU (30-10, 8-1). The series will begin on Friday with the first pitch scheduled for 6:30 p.m. WVU lefty Jackson Wolf (3-4, 3.44 ERA) is scheduled to face TCU’s Russell Smith (6-1, 3.23).

Saturday’s game will begin at 2 p.m. and will be broadcast nationally on ESPNU. Sophomore Jake Carr (1-3, 10.59) will oppose TCU’s Austin Krob (5-0, 3.21). The series finale will be at 1 p.m. Sunday and feature a battle between Ben Hampton (3-1, 4.35) and Johnny Ray (3-2, 5.30).

Following the TCU series, WVU will host Pitt (20-11, 14-10 ACC) for a mid-week game on Wednesday, May 5. WVU will play host to Oklahoma for a three-game series the following weekend before playing a pair of non-conference opponents starting with Marshall on Tuesday, May 11 and a three-game series against Miami (Ohio) beginning on Friday, May 14.

The team’s next game away from Mon Country Ballpark is scheduled for May 20, the first of a three-game series in Austin, Texas against the Texas Longhorns.
