WVU Football 2025 QB Commit Visiting for Coal Rush Game
Even recruits already committed to West Virginia want to take in the atmosphere of the Coal Rush game. A potential future leader of the Mountaineers, WVU football quarterback 2025 commit Scotty Fox will be taking another trip to Morgantown for Saturday night’s game against Iowa State.
“Can’t wait to get back down in Morgantown this Weekend!! Going to be electric!!,” said Fox on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday. This will mark Fox’s second visit for a big game this season. He was also in town for WVU’s season opener against Penn State.

The Mentor High School in Mentor, Ohio product announced his commitment to WVU after a win during the 2023 season following the game. Fox posted a graphic on social media and added “committed!!!” as the simple caption.
Fox, who initially received an offer from West Virginia back in May, has remained in steady contact with the WVU coaching staff. He even recently visited on Jan. 20.
Fox also earned offers from several other major programs, but is locking in with the Mountaineers despite having multiple seasons of high school left. Boston College, Kentucky, Indiana, Marshall, Michigan State and even the team West Virginia beat on Saturday Cincinnati are among the schools who offered Fox.
Fox is far from the only top recruit who will be at the game this weekend. For example, West Virginia will also be hosting a top running back out of Western Pennsylvania’s WPIAL.
