The WVU football staff added a new top athlete to their 2025 recruiting class on Sunday with the commitment of Chamarryus Bomar.

A product of Anderson Westside in South Carolina, Bomar, listed at 6-foot, 173-pounds, was initially committed to Appalachian State until he re-opened his recruitment in December.

West Virginia’s new staff then jumped all over Bomar, showing their interest with an official offer on Jan. 5. WVU’s hiring of former Appalachian State assistant Rod West instantly gave West Virginia an advantage.

Bomar is considered a three-star athlete by most recruiting outlets and also held offers from Boston College, Marshall and Maryland among others.

Bomar has enjoyed success on both sides of the ball in high school, totaling 43 receptions for 1,293 receiving yards and scoring 23 total touchdowns while also recording five interceptions.
