WVU Football Gets in Mix Against Rival for 2026 3-Star Georgia Edge Rusher

With the future of the pass rush in mind, the WVU football staff sent an offer to a highly touted edge rusher recruit this week. Evan Harvey, a three-star prospect from Georgia, announced his West Virginia offer on social media on Jan. 24.
WVU joined in the recruiting battle for Harvey a day after rival Pitt showed their own interest in him.

Harvey, a 6-foot-3, 230-pound defensive end from Tyrone, Ga., attends Sandy Creek High School and be entering his senior season this coming fall.
Heโs ranked as a consensus three-star and regarded as among the top 50 Georgia players for the 2026 class by ESPN, Rivals, 247 Sports and On3 Sports.
Beyond the recent offers from WVU and Pitt, Harvey has Division I offers from notable schools like Duke, East Carolina, Georgia Tech, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisville, Marshall, Maryland, Mississippi State, Notre Dame, Penn State, Tennessee, UCF, USF and Wisconsin.
