WVU Football Announces Several Game Promotions for 2024 Season
On Tuesday, the WVU football program announced some of the game promotions for the upcoming 2024 season. West Virginia did this while deciding to wait to publicize a couple big ones.
The following game promotions are listed below.
Note: the Coal Rush game and the annual Hall of Fame weekend will be revealed at a later date.
In the midst of WVU's press release about game promotions, they officially eliminate Penn State as an option for the Coal Rush uniforms. They will announce which game becomes the Coal Rush game at a later date.
Options in play are Kansas, Iowa State, Kansas State or Baylor.

Saturday, Aug. 31 vs. Penn State (12 p.m., ET | FOX)
Stripe the Stadium
The 2024 home opener against Penn State will be the Stripe the Stadium game. Fans sitting in even-numbered sections (Sec. 102, 104, 202, 204, etc.), Touchdown Terrace and WVU students seated in the upper-level student sections are encouraged to wear gold to the game. Fans sitting in odd-numbered sections (Sec. 101, 103, 201, 203, etc.) and WVU students seated in the lower-level student sections are encouraged to wear blue to the game.To see a Stripe the Stadium map, visit wvusports.com/stripethestadium.
FOX BIG NOON KICKOFF
The season-opening game and 61st meeting all-time between the two schools on Aug. 31 has been selected by FOX as its BIG NOON SATURDAY game. The BIG NOON KICKOFF pregame show, the biggest pregame party of the weekend, also is coming to Morgantown, and will broadcast live. Fans will have a chance to join Mountaineer Nation on national TV from one of the most exciting campuses in college football, with its exclusive, one-of-a-kind atmosphere. The show provides a preview of the day’s top games in college football, plus detailed analysis on the BIG NOON SATURDAY matchup.
The BIG NOON KICKOFF pregame show will broadcast from the Almost Heaven Village, presented by ReBuilders, located between the Light Blue and the Teal lots, beginning at 10 a.m. with kickoff inside Milan Puskar Stadium at noon.
Saturday, Sept. 7 vs. Albany (6 p.m., ET | Big 12 Now on ESPN+)
Gold Rush
The annual Gold Rush game will take place against Albany on Sept. 7. All fans in attendance are encouraged to wear gold to the game.
Coca-Cola Family Day
Fans can purchase four tickets and a $25 concession voucher for as low as $150 per Family Day package. Kickoff is slated for 6 p.m. CLICK HERE to purchase a Coca-Cola Family Day package.
Group Ticket Packages
The Mountaineer Ticket Sales and Service team is offering special group ticket packages to the Albany game for Youth Sports Day, presented by UScellular, Sprirt Day and Band Day.
Saturday, Sept. 21 vs. Kansas
Extra Yard for Teachers
The College Football Playoff Foundation’s organization, Extra Yard for Teachers, week is Sept. 14-21. Extra Yard for Teachers is dedicated to elevating the teaching profession by inspiring and empowering teachers in four core areas: resources, recognition, professional development, recruitment and retention. Homecoming
All alumni and friends are invited to Morgantown on Oct. 19 as the Mountaineers welcome Kansas State for Homecoming, presented by Diversified Energy.

Saturday, Nov. 16 vs. Baylor
Military Appreciation
The 2024 Military Appreciation game will be held on Saturday, Nov. 16, against Baylor, presented by Go Mart. The game against the Bears also will round out Mountaineer Week celebrations on campus.

Saturday, Nov. 23 vs. UCF
True Blue
All fans are encouraged to wear blue Mountaineer gear as West Virginia battles UCF on True Blue Saturday, Nov. 23, presented by Supply Solutions.
Senior Day
WVU’s final home game against the Knights also will be Senior Day.
