WVU Football LB recruit Sam Haley

A linebacker recruit out of Tennessee asked if West Virginia should be his next home on Tuesday. Class of 2025 prospect Sam Haley revealed the WVU football program is one of his top schools on a graphic posted to X (Twitter).

Haley (6-foot-3, 218 pounds), who has been awarded three stars by several national recruiting outlets, also listed Michigan State, Missouri, North Carolina, North Carolina State, TCU, Tennessee and Virginia Tech.

The Nashville native and Ensworth High School product received an offer from the Mountaineers in September. WVU was one of the first major conference schools to offer Haley. Conversely, fellow Big 12 member TCU made Haley’s list despite offering him much more recently in February.

Some of the other big FBS programs who have been pursuing Haley include Cincinnati, Georgia Tech, South Carolina and Wake Forest among others.
