With the transfer portal still open, WVU football players still have time to jump in and look for a new program. WV Sports Now can confirm an EerSports report that safety Chris Fileppo did just that on Friday, showing up in the transfer portal.

The 6-foot-4 and 208-pound Fileppo was a Neal Brown recruit, who stayed true to West Virginia and signed in December of 2024 despite the coaching change to Rich Rodriguez.

Flieppo made 12 total tackles in 2025 in limited time.

Fileppo earned a three-star ranking from ESPN as a recruit. He also earned all-state honors and ran a 4.49 second 40-yard dash.

There’s growing speculation from sources that the Doylestown, Pa. native may be headed to Penn State.
