Even though the season is still months away, the times and networks for the 2023 WVU football schedule are being announced.

It’s already known that West Virginia’s season opening game in State College against Penn State will be broadcast nationally on NBC at 7:30 pm ET, but the details concerning three more games have now been unveiled as well.

WVU will have at least three more night games this fall, with the 106th edition of the Backyard Brawl serving as another prime-time rivalry game. West Virginia will look to avenge last year’s loss in Pittsburgh when WVU and Pitt battle it out Milan Puskar Stadium in Morgantown on Saturday, September 16 at 7:30 pm ET. The 2023 Backyard Brawl will air on ABC.

In addition to the two big throwback rivalry games, West Virginia will also host Duquesne in its home opener on Saturday, September 9 at 6 pm ET and will travel to Houston to meet Neal Brown’s predecessor Dana Holgorsen and Houston on Thursday, October 12 at 7 pm ET.

WVU and Houston will be another nationally televised matchup, airing on FS1. Conversely, West Virginia’s game against Duquesne will be available on Big 12 Now on ESPN+.

Starting with the Sept. 23 home matchup against Texas Tech, the times and network partners for the remaining Big 12 games will be released on either a 12-day or six-day window prior to the date of the game.
