The WVU football program closed the weekend by sending an offer to a running back with a four-star rating from a national outlet.

Class of 2024 running back and overall athlete Jason Patterson (6-foot, 205 pounds) announced his offer from the Mountaineer Sunday evening. Patterson, who attends Sneads High School in Sarasota, Florida, is considered a top 100 player in Florida for his class.

Patterson now becomes the latest running back to gain an offer from West Virginia.

While most national recruiting outlets have Patterson as a three-star prospect, ESPN is the highest on him. ESPN has him ranked as a four-star recruit.

Separately, 247 Sports has Patterson as the number 48 player in Florida and the 25th best running back in the country.

The WVU football program is one of 17 schools to extend an official offer to Patterson to this point. With his senior season in front of him, Patterson has offers from schools like Boston College, Cincinnati, Rutgers, Georgia Tech, Memphis, Minnesota, Stanford and USF among others.
