WVU Offensive Tackle Ja’Quay Hubbard Announces Season-Ending Surgery

Published

West Virginia offensive tackle Ja’Quay Hubbard announced on his Instagram Monday that he will have season-ending shoulder surgery on Tuesday.

Hubbard (6-foot-5, 335 pounds) transferred to WVU after redshirting last season with the Virginia Cavaliers. He received a waiver to play this season but had not yet appeared in a game prior to Monday’s announcement.

Hubbard was a three-star prospect coming out of Sharpsville High School in Pennsylvania in 2018, originally committing to Virginia. Hubbard’s injury further thins out WVU’s depth at offensive tackle, following former stater Junior Uzebu entering his name into the transfer portal last week.
