WVU OL Nick Krahe Goes Down Early in Mayo Classic

CHARLOTTE – WVU offensive lineman Nick Krahe went down early in the first quarter of Saturday night’s Mayo Classic against Virginia.

Krahe walked off the field with help, but did not return for West Virginia’s next offensive possession. At the time of his injury, WVU and Virginia were tied at seven, having traded one long touchdown drive each.

The Cavaliers would take the lead thanks to a 47-yard touchdown run by Xavier Brown at the end of the first quarter.

West Virginia’s most veteran member of the offensive line, Krahe committed to the Mountaineers ahead of the 2023 season as a consensus three-star recruit. He starred on both sides of the ball in high school, playing at both offensive guard and tackle, providing him some background to become more versatile.

During his first two seasons with WVU, Krahe redshirted and then made it onto the field as a member of the special teams unit before starting at tackle under Rodriguez in 2025.
