WVU Target Tomiwa Durojaiye Commits to Kentucky over WVU, Others

West Virginia wasn’t able to land an official visit with 2022 three-star defensive end Tomiwa Durojaiye, but the Mountaineers did enough to secure a spot among his finalists.

Unfortunately for WVU, it wasn’t enough as Durojaiye announced his commitment to Kentucky Sunday afternoon via Twitter.

Durojaiye made an unofficial visit to WVU in June, speaking highly of the strength and conditioning at WVU and complimenting WVU head coach Neal Brown’s coaching staff in place in Morgantown, but it appears Durojaiye just forged stronger bonds with the staff at Kentucky.

The 6-foot-4, 255-pound defensive end played well for Middletown High School in Middletown, Delaware and will now take his pass-rushing talents to Lexington, Kentucky.

WVU will get back on the recruiting trail, looking to lock up a few late 2022 recruits before their senior seasons begin later this month and into September. WVU’s 2022 class is currently ranked 20th nationally, according to 247Sports.
