Suemnick entered the transfer portal on April 10, a few weeks following WVU’s hiring of Darian DeVries.
Suemnick averaged 4.1 points and 2.6 rebounds through 32 games for the Mountaineers this past season. The 6-foot-8 forward filled in for Jesse Edwards, who dealt with a fractured wrist injury for over a month during the season and posted 8.2 points and 4.8 rebounds during his six starts. Suemnick’s highlight of the 2023-24 season occurred vs. Kansas, scoring 20 points and leading the Mountaineers to an upset win over the then-No. 3 Jayhawks.
Suemnick joined West Virginia’s program in 2022 under former HC Bob Huggins. The Green Bay, Wi. native previously played at Robert Morris and Triton College (JUCO) before WVU. Suemnick stayed with the Mountaineers following Huggins’ resignation, joining interim HC Josh Eilert.
Before West Virginia, Suemnick began his collegiate career at Robert Morris and then played Junior College ball at Triton College. Suemnick was named to the NJCAA Selection Teams after a final four run.
The former Mountaineer has one year of eligibility remaining.
