West Virginia’s Hudson Clement Graded Among Top WRs
Several players stepped up to make West Virginia’s comeback win over Kansas happen, but few had as big of a game as Hudson Clement. WVU’s WR1 played so well on Saturday that PFF graded him as one of the top performers of the week.
According to PFF, only three other receivers were better than Clement during Week 4. Clement earned a grade of 86.3.

And while PFF grades extend beyond just the numbers, Clement’s statistics pop off the page as well. He made seven catches for 150 yards, averaging 21.4 yards per catch. Clement’s longest reception of the day went for 39 yards.
So far through four games, the West Virginia native has 14 receptions for 231 yards and a touchdown.
Clement’s emergence was one of the most surprising stories during the 2023 season, earning a scholarship after a breakout performance against Duquesne and then establishing himself as one of Garrett Greene’s most trusted targets.
Clement finished the season with 22 catches for 480 yards and four touchdowns. Clement ended his memorable year by making five receptions for 89 yards in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl victory over North Carolina.
Nothing may top 2023 as far as a memorable season, but Neal Brown believes Hudson Clement hasn’t come close to reaching his full potential. Brown even went as far as saying no skilled player has had a better offseason than Hudson Clement.
For a related story, WV Sports Now’s Mike Asti explained why Hudson Clement would be WVU’s WR1 despite newfound wide receiver depth.
