WVU basketball associate head coach Chester Frazier visited 2026 prospect Josh Powell at Skyline Prep (Az.) on Wednesday, the guard tells WV Sports Now.

Powell, 6-foot-5, is considered a four-star recruit by ESPN and a three-star by Rivals.

Powell, a native of New York, has picked up offers from Albany, Arizona State, Bryant, Illinois, Marist, Mississippi State, Norfolk State, Texas A&M and others.

Despite the visit, Powell has not received an official offer from West Virginia yet.

Washington was also in this week for Powell, according to Brian Flinn. Coastal Carolina and DePaul are other programs that are getting involved with Powell’s recruitment.

In other news, 2025 three-star guard Lino Mark officially scheduled a visit to West Virginia starting on Friday, he told WV Sports Now.

Mark will be in town from Sept. 20-22. Mark has narrowed down his recruitment to eight schools and is considering Loyola Marymount, Rutgers, Seton Hall, TCU, UCSB, USC, Utah and West Virginia.

Frazier was at Notre Dame High School on Tuesday to visit Mark before his visit, the 6-foot-2 guard said.

Mark visited USC for an official visit last week and has visits scheduled for Seton Hall (Sept. 9-11) and TCU (Oct. 3-5), per ZagsBlog. Mark has also visited Loyola Marymount.

WVU’s staff extended an offer to Mark on Aug. 16.
