West Virginia may be adding some help for their struggling secondary, even if it that assistance is not for this season.

Defensive back Morri Colson, who has already committed to Middle Tennessee State, announced that he received an offer from WVU late Wednesday night. Colson is a member of the 2023 junior college class and currently attends Western Iowa Community College. He grew up in Ocilla, Georgia.

Colson is listed at 5’11 and 180 pounds by 247 Sports. In addition to his current Middle Tennessee State commitment and newfound WVU offer, Colson has also received offers from Appalachian State, Iowa and Washington State.

Extending an offer to Colson shows an urgency in retooling the secondary. The Mountaineers will also lose their top corner following this season in Charles Woods. The fifth-year senior has missed most of this season after suffering a serious ankle injury against Pitt.
