2025 three-star forward Chase Thompson completed an official visit to West Virginia. Thompson posted his visit photos on Tuesday afternoon.

Thompson has only recently been recruited by WVU, under new head coach Darian DeVries, as the staff offered the 6-foot-7 recruit in May.

“Almost heaven #notcommitted,” Thompson wrote on social media.

Thompson is entering his senior year at Alexandria Area High School in Minnesota. Thompson has picked up offers from Appalachian State, Bryant, Iowa, Nebraska, Stetson, Toledo, West Virginia and others. 247 Sports ranks Thompson as the No. 169 prospect in the 2025 class and the third-best in the state of Minnesota.

WVU assistant Kory Barnett extended an offer to Thompson after watching him play during a weekend in Texas.

Thompson is a two-sport athlete in high school, participating in football as well. Thompson threw for 1,373 passing yards with 14 touchdowns and four interceptions in seven games.

Thompson tells WV Sports Now that he’s also planning on scheduling an official visit with Iowa.

West Virginia does not have a commitment for the upcoming senior class but did land three recruits quickly in the 2024 class with Jonathan Powell (G), KJ Tenner (G) and Dalton Jay (G).
