WVU Football DL recruit Elijah Crawford

The WVU football program finds itself in the running for a nearby defensive line recruit. Class of 2025 prospect Elijah Crawford showed West Virginia as one of his final three in a graphic he posted on X (Twitter) on Friday.

And in the midst of revealing his updated list, Crawford also announced when he will commit. Crawford (6-foot-4, 280 pounds) will be deciding between Rutgers, Syracuse and WVU on July 5.

Crawford, who is viewed as a college defensive tackle and carries a three-star rating from Rivals, will be entering his final high school season at McDonogh High School in Owings Mills, Md. He was named an All-Conference player in 2023.

Crawford has visited Morgantown frequently throughout the spring after receiving an offer on January 18, most recently for an official visit in early April.

Prior to narrowing down his list, Crawford also held offers from Akron, Charlotte, Connecticut, Indiana, Liberty, Pitt, Temple and Virginia Tech. But those programs will now have to look elsewhere as Crawford picks from the three remaining after the Independence Day holiday.
